    MUNGKIN masih banyak yang belum kenal dengan aplikasi Me Chat. Ya, aplikasi instant messaging ini punya kelebihan bisa 'disuntikkan' pada ponsel yang memakai sistem operasi MTK. Aplikasi ini dirilis oleh Maxintech Indonesia, membuat ponsel lokal yang beredar di pasaran mempunyai fitur chat sendiri. Fitur ini terinspirasi oleh suksesnya BBM di perangkat BlackBerry dari Research In Motion (RIM).
      "Keunggulan Me Chat adalah bisa dinikmati oleh semua kalangan. Tidak seperti BBM yang hanya dipunyai BlackBerry, Me Chat kompatibel dengan semua ponsel, tak terkecuali Blackberry," kata Marketing Manager PT Maxitech Indonesia Ellen Stanni.
     Menurut dia, adanya aplikasi ini di ponsel low end memudahkan pengguna menyampaikan informasi lebih cepat. Disebutkannya, fitur- fitur aplikasi Me Chat adalah Facebook, Twitter, up date status teman, mencari teman dari phonebook, daftar teman dan chat list.
    Untuk mengirim gambar bisa memakai Me Pix atau Me Share, kirim suara termasuk voice record pakai Me Audio,  Me-Mail untuk membaca email, Me-Translater untuk terjemahan bahasa (Inggris, Indonesia, Spanyol, Thailand, Mandarin).
     Bisa juga untuk emotion yang dapat bergerak, manage history dan setting, informasi status pengiriman seperti D (delivered= terkirim), R (received=terima), S (send=kirim), dan ! (pengiriman gagal). "Semua kelebihan chat tersebut ada dalam satu ruang saja. Jadi tak perlu login sana sini. Selain itu, pengguna cukup membayar Rp 1.000 per hari untuk menikmati seluruh fasilitas itu," kata dia.
       Meski baru eksis sekitar lima bulan lalu, PT Maxitech Indonesia sudah menggaet sekitar 40 vendor dan operator ponsel untuk memperluas pasarnya. Beberapa di antaranta adalah Three, Telkomsel, XL, G Star, HT Mobile, i Lexus, Blueberry, Asia Phone, Mito, K Touch, IT mobile, Alcatel One Touch, dan lain-lain.         Nantinya aplikasi Me-Touch akan langsung terpasang pada ponsel-ponsel tersebut. "Untuk saat ini kami masih fokus ke vendor lokal, namun untuk ke depannya kemungkinan selalu terbuka untuk vendor luar. Vendor asing yang sudah bekerjasama dengan layanan Me- Chat adalah Lenovo dan Alcatel One Touch," kata Ellen.
     Untuk layanan Me Chat, perempuan paruh baya itu menjelaskan bahwa research and development aplikasi ini dilakukan di Cina. Sementara implementasinya dilaksanakan di Indonesia. (mtb)
